Danebu Kongsgaard is located in the middle of beautiful Valdres. Valdres not only offers beautiful nature, but also culture and food.
The Valdres museums include the Bautahaugen Collection (in Hedalen), the Bagn Bygdesamling and Bagnsbergatn in Bagn, the Gardberg field in Slidre, the Norwegian Institute for Bunad and Folk Costume and the Valdres Folkemuseum at Fagernes.
In Valdres you can go to one or more of the many small and large festivals and concerts that are organized throughout the year. You will find everything from music festivals such as the Summer Symphony or Hemsingfestivalen to food festivals such as Rakfiskfestivalen. All in lovely surroundings.
Every winter, the Hemsing festival invites you to intimate meetings with great music. Classical music at a high international level is presented in interaction with local musical and cultural traditions, and a unique combination of nature and musical experiences.
Valdres summer symphony is one of Norway's leading classical chamber music festivals and every year presents some of the world's leading classical performers in idyllic settings such as barns, (stave) churches or out in the beautiful Valdres nature. You get to experience warm and inspiring encounters with classical music.
A festival that offers delicious rakfisk (fermented trout, a food treasure) and other local food, good drinks, musical experiences and lots of fun memories. If you like food, people and a good atmosphere, this is the perfect festival for you.
During a farm visit at Piltingsrud Gard, you can experience close contact with animals, cultural heritage and good food. The farm is particularly known for delivering delicious long-tendered meat from the grass-fed Aberdeen Angus. You can also get this meat in Danebu Kongsgaard's restaurant.
