Biking around Danebu Kongsgaard

The Valdresfjellene offer wonderful cycling tours. From the doorstep of Danebu Kongsgaard can you, among other things, cycle a great trip to Kruk.

BLUE A: AURDAL-KRUK 23 KM, DURATION: 2-4 HOURS RETURN-TRIP
Along mountain farm roads, there is a blue-marked cycle path between Danebu and Nythun. Easy and hilly, where all or parts of the trail can be used. Be careful at Skaveldslette. Here there is a nice downhill, which you gain good speed after a few hundred metres. You need to take off sharply to the right. Follow the map.

Guided biking with Valdres Rides

If you could imagine a guided trail bike ride, we recommend Bike Beitostølen/Valdres Rides. Valdres Rides is the parent company of Bike Beitostølen, and offers guiding and instruction throughout Valdres. They organize courses and trips for all levels, but mostly stay in the terrain and on forest and mountain paths. There is an advantage with a fully damped bike, but if you have a hard tail and are comfortable with it, that's just as well! Whether you want to cycle or get better at cycling, starting in Aurdal (Danebu Kongsgaard), Vaset, Leira or Fagernes, they offer guided tours, instruction and shuttle service wherever it suits you.

Join guided cycling from Danebu to Leira!

When:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, summer/autumn.

Start:
At 10:00 at Danebu Kongsgaard

Duration:
Approx 3,5 hours.

Level:
Should master red, but if there are more of you who have cycled blue grading, contact Valdres Rides, and solutions can be found.

Description:
The guide meets you at Danebu and you cycle/push up to Binnhovdknatten. From there, the descent begins in the direction of Leira. Here, there will be a lot of nice flow and a bit of pedaling and something technical in between, before you come out onto a dirt road. After 500 meters on gravel, you enter one of the finest floating paths Nord-Aurdal has to offer, which takes you down to the center of Leira. From here you will be shuttled (with bicycles) up to Danebu, a shower, and afterbike! (in the order you want).

The guide is Ole Richard Stokke from Valdres Rides/Bike Beitostølen AS. He is a certified NMIG cycle guide and instructor, and ensures a safe and enjoyable trip!

Price:
If you stay at Danebu Kongsgaard, you get a guest price of NOK 1,100 including shuttle service back to the hotel.
